Classification of galvanized square pipes
Galvanized square pipes are divided into hot-dip galvanized square pipes and cold-galvanized square pipes from the production process. It is precisely because of the different processing of these two galvanized square pipes that they have many different physical and chemical properties. In general they have many differences in strength, toughness and mechanical properties.
Hot-dip galvanized square tube
Hot-dip galvanized square pipe: It is a square pipe made of steel plate or steel strip after crimping and welding, and on the basis of this square pipe, the square pipe is placed in a hot-dip galvanizing pool after a series of chemical reactions A square tube formed. The production process of hot-dip galvanized square pipe is relatively simple, and the production efficiency is very high, and there are many varieties and specifications. But in terms of strength, the strength of this kind of steel pipe is far lower than that of seamless square pipe.
Cold galvanized square tube
The cold galvanized square pipe uses the principle of cold galvanizing on the square pipe used to make the square pipe have anti-corrosion properties. Different from hot-dip galvanizing, cold galvanizing coatings mainly carry out anti-corrosion through electrochemical principles. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the zinc powder and steel are in full contact, resulting in electrode potential difference, so the surface treatment of steel is very important.
Difference between hot and cold galvanizing
Galvanized square pipes are divided into two categories: hot-dip galvanized square pipes and electro-galvanized square pipes. Hot-dip galvanized square pipes include wet method, dry method, lead-zinc method, redox method, etc. The main difference between different hot-dip galvanizing methods is what method is used to activate the surface of the pipe body to improve the quality of galvanizing after the steel pipe is acid dipped and cleaned. The dry method and the redox method are mainly used in the production, and their characteristics are shown in the table. The surface of the zinc layer of electro-galvanizing is very smooth and dense, and the structure is uniform; it has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance; the zinc consumption is 60% to 75% lower than that of hot-dip galvanizing. Electrogalvanizing is technically complicated, but this method must be used for single-sided coating, double-sided coating with different thicknesses of inner and outer surfaces, and galvanizing of thin-walled pipes .
