The 2025 Cold-Rolled Sheet/Strip Technology Exchange Conference Concludes Successfully

The 2025 Cold-Rolled Sheet/Strip Technology Exchange Conference was successfully held in Xichang, Sichuan Province, from August 20 to 22. The conference, themed “Innovation and Development of High-Quality, High-Efficiency, and Intelligent Cold-Rolled Sheet/Strip Rolling Technology,” was co-hosted by the Rolling Steel Branch of the China Metallurgical Society and Baosteel Group Corporation, among others. It attracted over 130 experts and representatives from manufacturing companies, research institutions, universities, and enterprises.
Dr. Zhang Yumin, Chief Expert at Shanghemei (Beijing) Technology Research Institute and Technical Director at Cangzhou Huarun Chemical Co., Ltd., delivered a special report at the conference, focusing on his team's independently developed “New DPC System Oil Film Thickening Technology.” This technology maintains oil film stability under high-speed rolling conditions, enhances lubrication performance, extends the service life of rollers, and significantly improves sheet surface reflectivity by 20–25%, reduces oil consumption by 10–20%, and decreases waste oil production by 40–65%, providing reliable support for enterprises to achieve energy conservation, emissions reduction, and green production.

As a leading domestic brand in the industry, Cangzhou Huarun Chemical has consistently adhered to the philosophy of “building a national brand and promoting Chinese manufacturing.” It has engaged in in-depth industry-academia-research collaboration and customized services with multiple universities and major steel enterprises such as Baowu, Anben, and Hebei Steel, assisting clients in improving quality, enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and lowering energy consumption.
Dr. Zhang Yumin graduated from the University of Maryland in the United States, previously served as Chief Scientist at Quaker Chemical China, has published over 60 papers, and holds seven patents, making him a leading expert in China's cold-rolled lubrication field.
During the conference, an expert symposium was held to conduct in-depth discussions on key technical challenges and future development directions in the industry. This exchange meeting effectively promoted technological progress in the cold-rolled sheet/strip industry toward greener, smarter, and higher-quality development.
