Recently, Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group successfully rolled its first coil of hot-rolled DP600 dual-phase steel in a single trial run on the production line. Rigorous testing confirmed outstanding performance across all key product attributes, with core metrics such as the yield-to-tensile strength ratio and martensite content exceeding both national standards and relevant technical specifications.

As an advanced high-strength steel, DP600 dual-phase steel features a low yield-to-tensile strength ratio and excellent formability. It finds applications in diverse fields including automotive body manufacturing, critical structural component processing, hot-dip galvanized high-strength steel substrates, and petrochemical pipelines, offering broad application prospects.

To ensure smooth product development, Jiuquan Steel's technical team systematically reviewed over 30 domestic and international papers and patent documents on DP600 dual-phase steel composition design, phase transformation mechanisms, and controlled rolling/cooling processes. Through repeated simulations using thermal modeling software and on-site process validation, they finalized a scientifically sound alloy composition plan and rolling process route. During trial production, despite challenges such as incomplete cooling models for dual-phase steel after production line modifications and insufficient computational accuracy, technicians achieved the expected goals on the first attempt through precise manual adjustments. This successfully established stable, end-to-end hot-rolled dual-phase steel low-temperature coiling processes.

Moving forward, Jiuquan Iron and Steel will continue advancing product structure optimization and upgrading. The company will accelerate R&D and trial production of high-end steel grades, including higher-strength duplex steels and pipeline steels, to continuously expand its high-value-added product portfolio and enhance core competitiveness.
